About

Shola was born in London to Nigerian parents. She was fostered by a British family from three months old until age eleven before moving back to live with her parents. A Cambridge graduate and Chemistry teacher she moved to the USA to study for her Masters degree. Later she quit a management consulting career because she felt paralyzed having to stand up and present in front of clients.

A natural introvert, by that time she was living in New York and consulting at Goldman Sachs and her company were pushing her towards a management role where she would have to pitch and present to prospective clients. But, lacking confidence in her presentation skills she decided to leave the company. She returned to London and  at first worked as an account director for a design firm. Later she decided to leave the corporate world and trained to be a life coach. This gave her the confidence to pursue one of her lifelong dreams: of becoming a professional Jazz and Motown singer.

Shola now performs internationally in front of audiences as large as 15,000. In Los Angeles she won an award for her songwriting and has written jingles and corporate music for global companies.

Shola is available for gigs and for keynote speeches and workshops. She has a natural empathy with people who find it difficult communicating to a group. She speaks on topics such as overcoming setbacks and how to find one’s unique voice.

She has also developed a workshop for corporates with an emphasis on
1. developing conversational speaking skills for work-related presentations
2. using storytelling to engage audiences
3. utilizing drama, vocal variety and expression to create a compelling audience experience.

In both her keynote speeches and workshops Shola uses the power of songs and musical performance to create a unique, refreshing and memorable experience for attendees.
 

Fun facts: Shola sometimes performs as a Diana Ross tribute act. She also appeared on the ITV show Dinner Date and the episode has been syndicated from Holland to New Zealand to South Africa.
