We perform live with our own specially commissioned recordings of piano, double-bass, drums, percussion and guitar - creating the sound and energy of a larger band while still retaining all the intimacy and versatility of a duo.
 

Sax & Honey’s popular mix of classic Ratpack swing, Latin jazz and soulful contemporary music is the perfect accompaniment to a drinks reception or sit-down meal - and if you are looking to book upbeat, feature entertainment for an evening party we offer a high-energy dance set of Jump Jive, Rock & Roll, Motown, Funk, Soul, Pop and R&B.

 

Sax & Honey is a husband and wife duo featuring the cool sounds of tenor saxophonist Lynden Blades and the exquisite vocals of Andrea Blades.
 

Lynden and Andrea met by chance in a jazz club in Christchurch, New Zealand, in January 2000. Kiwi Andrea was singing with her band and Londoner Lynden (who was travelling in NZ at the time and in Christchurch for just one night) jumped up to join them for a solo.
 

The connection was instantaneous and that chance encounter was to set the scene for the enduring partnership - both musically and romantically - that they continue to share today.
 

Within three months of meeting they were on the road together, touring Australia and Thailand playing in 5-star hotels, and in November that same year they were married in an intimate ceremony in Manhattan, New York (rounded off with dinner and live music at the famous Birdland jazz club!)

 

Sax & Honey are trusted suppliers of live music to a wide range of restaurants, bars and venues, providing quality entertainment for weekly and monthly music nights, VIP events, themed evenings, dinner-dances and much more. We currently perform on a regular basis for Truc Vert in Mayfair, The Feathers in Woodstock, Meze Meze Restaurant in North Finchley, Feast in Muswell Hill, Flirtease in Harrow, The Embankment in Bedford and The Nag’s Head in Brentwood. Live music adds such a great atmosphere to special occasions - from anniversaries, birthdays and Bar Mitzvahs to retirement parties, summer fetes, Christmas celebrations and more. Sax & Honey's extensive playlist offers plenty of variety and choice to suit all ages and musical tastes. We can offer you a range of band options from soloist to five-piece band, and will supply appropriate PA equipment and lighting to suit the size of your venue, whether you are planning to hire somewhere specially or are holding your party in your own home.
 

We have been delighted to support the fundraising efforts of a number of fantastic UK charities and work on an ongoing basis with Breast Cancer Care, Macmillan Cancer Support and the Sohana Research Fund, amongst many others.
