1. Winter Wonderland
A winter wonderland theme works for almost any Christmas party and event. But, with such a majestic aesthetic, it works especially well for dinner parties!

Frosted and/or clear crystal, white Christmas trees, polished silver, candles, snowflake confetti, metallic decorations, tinsel, fake snow, ice sculptures, and white string lights.

Two highly contrasting themes are high tech interactive and natural materials, enabling your company to show off its tech prowess, or boost its eco credentials.

You could extend the theme beyond décor and food into acoustic musical acts, for a more ‘natural’ sound.

Ever wanted something different at your private party or corporate event that captures each of your individual guest’s personalities?

Game of Thrones

Tourists love London. And who can blame them when we have a building on the north bank of the River Thames which goes by the full title of Her Majesty’s Royal Palace and Fortress of the Tower of London.

What if you wanted to have your very own ‘Game of Thrones’ game and wanted a little medieval entertainment to tie in with the theme of your corporate event? Strictly speaking, the fantasy epic isn’t set within the medieval world but strangely enough, Westeros entertainment isn’t really a thing unless you count the cutting of heads and gruesome events like the red wedding.

Why not hire some utterly brilliant circus entertainment for parties in the form of a few acrobats, who are dressed as court jesters for the duration of the event? Such a sight is truly a marvel to behold – jesters in the Tower of London in 2018!? – which will go down an absolute storm no doubt, or how about a similarly dressed contact juggler entranced those who watch. There’s something mystical about a contact juggler and the way their act works. They’re truly impressive to watch and highly recommended if you’re on the search for unique entertainment.

Don’t stop there, why not hire some musicians, classical would be more apt dressed in traditional Game of Thrones dress. Lastly, but by no means least you could provide a fortune teller because whether you’re a Stark or a Lannister, it’d be pretty great to know what was coming.

Entertainment for a funeral

When it comes to funerals, the entertainment isn’t often the sort of thing that crosses the mind. It certainly won’t be a jovial, happy occasion, but when it all comes down to it, a funeral is for celebrating a life and in that respect we do occasionally receive enquiries for entertainment at funerals. With this in mind we present a few of our most common requests for saying goodbye to a loved one.

London Fanfare Trumpets
Perhaps most often selected by those who were in the military and served their country, Fanfare Trumpeters are a traditional way to show respect. Brass instruments are often used in the line of duty and there is something morose and mournful about the tones they most often emit. Whether your loved one was in the Army, Royal Navy or Royal Air Force, there’s no denying that this particular entertainment idea is a beautiful way to say goodbye.

Bagpiper
If the deceased is Irish or Scottish then booking a bagpiper is often very common, or perhaps a friend or relative might be adept at the instrument to perform instead. The playing of pipes at ceremonial occasions has been going for centuries and is an excellent way to both begin and conclude a funeral, and is sure to strike just the right tone for the ceremony itself.

London Community Gospel Choir
The idea that funerals have to be sad occasions is not necessarily true, and booking a gospel choir is perhaps the most popular form of ‘a spin on tradition’ that occur at funerals. A church choir is most common but in some communities the gospel choir might well be preferred. Able to sing a number of different songs, they will undoubtedly learn a favourite if requested.

Kent Harpist
In all of music, we aren’t sure if there is anything as uniquely elegant as the harp. Able to provide a light sound to any occasion, the plucking of the strings makes for an excellent choice for a funeral and is one of our most requested musical options at a funeral. Kent Harpist is able to play classical or contemporary tunes and just like the London Community gospel choir is able to learn a song that was special to the person being commemorated on the day.

Poetry
You could book a poet for a funeral but in truth, the poetry is best when delivered by someone who knew the deceased. They may even like to write a poem themselves. This is slightly different to a eulogy, which can also be very popular and is sure to be well received by mourners. It’s best to remember that a eulogy doesn’t have to be a straight ‘facts of a life’ but can be a humorous take on memories of a person.

Mystery Parties

How a Mystery Party Works…

Your invitation will include details about which character the guest will play. Encourage them to dress up – this is a big part of the fun! During the course of the evening, an announcement will be made that a murder has happened. Clues will be revealed over time, and characters will get information cards periodically to help them with their responses and guide them on what information they should reveal (or not reveal).

Your Job at the Party
As a good host, you’ll make sure that guests know what character they will be before they arrive (so they can dress the part),make sure that clues are set up along the way, and make sure that each character has the information he or she needs to play their part.

Why is a Mystery Party So Much Fun?
These are a lot of fun, especially if you have friends who will really get into their characters and come dressed for their role.

Sometimes guests who assume another person’s identities, from the way they walk, talk and act. Those who assume accents can be hysterical!

These parties are also fun because they can revolve around dinner, so they serve a double purpose as a dinner party AND murder mystery!

A good game is one where the instructions are clear for the host and the characters, making it easy to play their part.
