The Greatest Show

The Greatest Showman is undoubtedly the hit of the year so far with a soundtrack that has broken records for its longevity in the chart. People just cannot get enough of The Greatest Showman. With this in mind, we thought it might be good to offer a few entertainment options for a themed event that focuses around the film. A theme will generally make a party or event a lot more memorable for those who attended, so in a lot of ways, we strongly recommend going for a theme. Not only that, but once you have settled on an idea, the party becomes a lot easier to visualise.

Would you hire circus performers in your venue ordinarily? Perhaps not. But if your theme is perfect for them then there’s an instant chance to wow your guests! Just think about the possibilities! Origin of National Playday

National Playday started way back in the UK in 1986 when money was tight and adventure playgrounds were under fire to have budget cuts. The idea arose for the great British public to have one day a year, usually the first Wednesday every August, in which they could enjoy the playground activities and highlight how important they are to society.

Well 27 years later the national day is still going strong and it is bigger and better than ever before! It is coordinated by Play England, Play Wales, Play Scotland and PlayBoard Northern Ireland.
Why is playing so important?
Playing is essential to a child’s learning and development. It teaches sharing, it encourages confidence and more importantly, it allows them to have an enjoyable childhood.
It is vital for the emotional, intellectual and physical development and it offers children of all ages, backgrounds and abilities to play together.

But that doesn’t mean that adults can’t get involved and be ‘big’ kids for the day.

A Vintage Circus Party

Ever since “Water for Elephants” hit the theatres, we’ve been in love with the Vintage Circus party theme. The idea has been around for a while, but it’s still one of the most visually exciting party themes out there! Plus, you can add all kinds of amazing live entertainment to take things up a notch. We have a few ideas to bring your Vintage Circus party to life.

Decorations

Stripes are an easy way to incorporate that circus feel into your party. If you can’t have the actual big top tent, bringing the red and white stripes into your decor will do the trick. Hanging a backdrop of alternating white and red scarves or sheets can mimic the tent, as well. Try and find faded red to add to the vintage theme. Banners with alternating flags are another simple yet effective decoration. Luckily, balloons are inexpensive and fit beautifully into a Circus theme. Hang balloons from the ceiling and pair with white lights or scarves for a simple, yet gorgeous setting.
